High-Performance Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amp Features HDAM-SA3 Circuitry, Advanced Power Supply, Phono Preamp, More
In terms of operation, performance, looks, and value, it's nearly impossible to find any fault with the Marantz PM6007 integrated amplifier, particularly its cost, which comes in well under four figures. Driven by a a power supply with Shottky Barrier Diodes, a large toroidal power transformer, and customized block capacitors, the 4.1 x 17.3 x 14.5-inch (HWD) PM6007 outputs a conservatively rated 45Wpc while providing a slew of analog and digital connections to accommodate your setup now – and in the future. A built-in phono preamplifier with FET input to preserve signal purity, subwoofer output, and digital filter modes for the optical/coaxial input add to the flexibility.
Indeed, PM6007 arrives built to please. Five gold-plated analog inputs and two optical digital inputs augment a fully shielded audiophile-grade AK4490 DAC for high-resolution enjoyment. Inside, Marantz's Current Feedback Amplifier technology provides wide-bandwidth and high-speed reproduction, while the inclusion of advanced thermal compensation prevents memory distortion and enhances clarity. PM6007 even boasts the company's HDAM-SA3 circuitry, originally found in flagship models that command a far steeper price. The benefit: Idling current stability is less immune to by power transistor temperatures and thus maintains composure even at high-level output.
Tuned by Marantz engineers and rounded out by hand-selected parts to optimize every aspect of the design, PM6007 makes for an ideal match with the CD6007 CD player – or in any system where user-friendly control, high-quality sonics, and clean aesthetics are cherished. 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.
"The clearest evidence of the line's evolution lies in the PM6007's performance. Its sonic character is as familiar as its casework: smooth, full-bodied and balanced, with a pleasing spaciousness. Like its predecessor, it's about as agreeable a performer as you could ask for at this price."

Current Feedback Amplifier
Current feedback amplifier technology provides wide-bandwidth and high-speed sound reproduction. In combination with the high current power supply, PM6007's amplifier section holds a large energy reserve to easily drive even the most demanding speakers. An advanced thermal compensation avoids memory distortion for clean amplification under any circumstances.
Toroidal Transformer
A toroidal transformer has several advantages over a normal EI core transformer. The highly efficient design delivers more power compared to the same size EI core transformer. In addition, the shape of the toroidal transformer delivers low electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibration for better sound quality.
Marantz HDAM-SA3 Technology
Marantz has developed discrete circuit boards to replace standard IC's. These HDAMs (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) consist of discrete surface mount components with short mirror-image L/R signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as the op-amps, but outperform these solutions dramatically in terms of the slew rate and reduced noise level, resulting in more dynamic, accurate, and detailed sound. In PM6007, the HDAM-SA3 circuit improves on its previous module and the idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to maintain sound performance even at high level output.
Expanded Connectivity for Digital Inputs (Two Optical, One Coax) with Hi-Res Audio Support
One coaxial digital and two optical digital inputs are available to connect digital devices and play back up to 24-bit/192kHz PCM through PM6007's advanced audio circuitry. The complete digital section is fully shielded by an extra metal housing unit to ensure that the digital stage has no effect on the analog signal.
Digital Filter for Optical/Coaxial input
PM6007 introduces a new digital filter for optical and coaxial inputs. This two-mode filter (Filter1/Filter2) allows optimized reproduction of digital music content using the new AK4490 D/A converter to your taste. Filter 1 is a slow roll-off preset that improves deep stereo imaging and Filter 2 is a sharp roll-off filter for more precise imaging reproduction.
Improved Integrated Phono Input
Marantz integrated amplifiers have historically featured high-quality phonostages. PM6007 remains faithful to that legacy, leveraging the newly designed circuit introduced with the PM7000N – one that integrates a FET (field-effect transistors) in the input stage. This technology delivers high input impedance, eliminates the need for AC coupling capacitors, simplifies the signal path, and lowers distortion and noise, thus vastly improving the overall signal purity.
Audiophile-Grade Sound Parts
Marantz maintains a steadfast reputation for choosing the best possible components for its products, and PM6007 is built with that same performance-first approach. Marantz engineers selected and improved the PM6007 versus the previous PM6006 through extensive listening in dedicated Marantz facilities in Europe and Japan using Hi-Fi tuned sound parts. For example, increasing the size of the power supply capacitors by 20% improved stability during high demand listening sessions.
