Description

Add Bluetooth Streaming to Practically Any System — Including Vintage Setups: McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth Transceiver Supports Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX HD, Features Balanced Inputs and Outputs

Add Bluetooth streaming capability to any system — even vintage setups from the 60s or 70s — with the the McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth transceiver. A Class 1 Bluetooth device that uses Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX, AAC, and aptX Low Latency, the smartphone-sized MC25 can send and receive Bluetooth signals at distances up to 150 feet. It can play digital music stored on your phone, in your cloud, or via your streaming services. Additionally, the 2.5-pound MB25 can transmit the sound of your vinyl-turntable combination to a Bluetooth speaker or set of Bluetooth 'phones. Front-panel input selection, an illuminated front glass panel that displays signal rates and connection types, Power Control for easy turn on/off with your other components, and a sleek aluminum chassis further speak to its user-friendly design.

Most importantly, and true to its McIntosh heritage, MB25 prioritizes sound quality. Its abundant connectivity includes sets of balanced analog inputs and outputs — rarely found on Bluetooth products — for premium fidelity. Coaxial and optical inputs/outputs invite you to effortlessly pair it with an outboard DAC. For its use as a receiver, MB25 employs a 32-bit/192kHz DAC and sensitive receiver for better reception. (Please note: MB25 does not operate as a standalone DAC.) An external antenna helps maximize its range. For its use as a transmitter, MB25 employs an ADC with a 110dB SNR and touts a range 10 times greater than that of a typical Class 2 Bluetooth device. And as a transceiver, MB25 can function as either a Bluetooth receiver or transmitter — but not both at the same time. Simply set the switch on the back panel for the desired use

With M25 in Receiver mode, you can stream to it via Bluetooth from any compatible device with Bluetooth streaming capabilities. This audio can then be played through your system regardless of when your amplifier or preamplifier was made. With MB25 in Transmitter mode, you can stream from it to any device that receives Bluetooth-streamed audio. In this setup, you can stream music stored on physical media, such as CDs or vinyl, to your wireless Bluetooth headphones or wireless Bluetooth speakers.

If you have more than one system in your home within range of each other, you can add an MB25 to each and set one unit to Transmitter mode and the other to Receiver mode. This allows you to stream music stored on physical media, such as from a CD player or turntable, from one system to the other. Or, if you have the need for a high-performance audio link from one part of your house to another but running cables is not possible, two MB25s wirelessly connected in this manner will create a full wireless encode/decode bridge.
