Stellar-Sounding CD Playback at a Reasonable Price: Marantz CD6007 CD Player Features AK4490 DAC, HDAM-SA2 Circuitry, and Oversized Power Supply with Schottky Barrier Diodes
Featuring an enhanced circuit layout, revised headphone amplifier, and a higher-quality AK4490 DAC with two new selectable filter options that help it improve on its acclaimed predecessor, the Marantz CD6007 CD player is a digital powerhouse. In addition to incredibly natural and smooth CD playback, it can handle a wide range of sound files from any USB-connected source up to high-res 24-bit/192kHz and DSD 5.6MHz. You'll hear profound dynamics, details, and tones – not to mention sterling clarity that continue to make discs superior to many of their noisier analog counterparts.
In addition to Marantz's exclusive, discrete HDAM-SA2 components that provide extra-wide bandwidth, quick slew rates, and vanishingly low levels of noise and distortion, CD6007 comes with an oversized power supply with high-speed, high-current Schottky Barrier Diodes and large storage capacitors for stellar stability and reduced distortion. A double-layered bottom plate and isolation feet further help deliver holographic imaging, panoramic soundstages, and lifelike timbres. If you want to listen in private, CD6007 has you covered there as well, via a sophisticated headphone amplifier complete with amp gain settings to accommodate a wide range of 'phones. You also get a remote control that works with Marantz's PM6007 integrated amplifier.
Combine such outstanding sonic performance with technological innovation and Marantz's decades-long track record of reliability, and you have a highly engaging device devised to provide emotionally satisfying music reproduction for years to come. 100% Music Direct Guaranteed.
"The CD6007 responds in a more cohesive way with rhythms and a slightly better sense of drive. We can hear the leading edges of the bass notes more clearly and there’s a greater feeling of space between the instrumental strands."

Marantz HDAM Technology
Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace standard ICs. The HDAMs consist of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as the op-amps but outperform the regular IC op-amps in terms of the slew rate and reduced noise level, resulting in more dynamic, accurate, and detailed sound. In CD6007, the proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit improves on its previous HDAM module for a more stable power supply. The idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to maintain sound performance even at high level output.
Reference-Quality Digital-to-Analog Conversion
CD6007 features a reference-class AK4490 DAC, offering two selectable filter options. It provides up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD 5.6MHz resolution for optimum musical fidelity with tight bass, pleasant mids, and smooth extended highs for CD playback and hi-Res formats from USB memory sticks.
High-Current Power Supply
The audio power supply employs high-speed, high-current Schottky Barrier Diodes and new higher-value current storage capacitors compared to the prior CD6006. The size of the power supply capacitors has been increased by 120% for improved current stability and reduced AC noise during high demanding listening sessions.
High Slew Rate Op-Amp + HDAM-SA2 Headphone Amplifier
Compared to CD6006, CD6007 offers an improved and redesigned headphone amplifier section. It inherits the exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain settings (Low/Mid/High) for a perfect match with almost any brand of headphones for an optimal solo listening experience. However, if you prefer, the headphone amp is also equipped with an "Off Circuit" function that automatically turns off the headphone amplifier when a headphone is not connected to the unit to avoid any unwanted interference or noise.
Digital Filter
CD6007 introduces a new selectable digital filter option. This two-mode filter allows optimized reproduction of digital music content using the new AK4490 DAC to your taste. Filter 1 is a slow roll-off preset that improves deep stereo imaging while Filter 2 is a sharp roll-off filter for more precise imaging reproduction.
