Keep Music in Constant Rotation with the NAD C 538 CD Player: High-Value Device Benefits from Expert Engineering and Audiophile-Grade Parts
Keep your silver discs in rotation with a high-value CD player made by a company with more than four decades of digital engineering experience. Belying its accessible price point, the NAD C 538 features audiophile-grade parts that account for its stunning performance.
To wit: Its Wolfson 24-bit DAC provides accurate linearity for the PCM data conversion to analog waveform; op amps buffer the output without adding noise or distortion; multi-layer PCBs use surface-mount components to allow for an enhanced circuit layout with short signal paths. To tie all these components together, a custom-designed active power supply delivers multiple regulated voltages to the transport, digital circuits, analog circuits, and control and display circuits.
The 6.6-pound C 538 also benfits from a solid foundation that significantly reduces external vibration and enhances the precise location of the CD drive mechanism, permitting smooth operation and a minimum of tracking errors. The tranmsport itself relies on heavy-gauge steel and non-resonant plastic moldings, and comes mounted on reinforced steel rails. More than 30 fasteners lock the assembly together and maintain dimensional integrity.
On the front panel, a dimmable dot matrix display shows tracks and total playing time. C 538 also play CD-R/CD-RW discs. On the rear panel, optical and coaxial digital outputs let you connect the player to an external DAC or other digital component.
