Description

The Virtuosic Peak of Ortofon's Cadenza Series: Award-Winning Cadenza Black MC Phono Cartridge with Shibata Stylus Delivers Fast, Balanced, Neutral, and Open Vinyl LP Playback

Ortofon's Cadenza Black MC phono cartridge is optimized for an amazing tonal neutrality, dynamics and purity of sound. Its detail, consistency and sound staging are immense. Cadenza Black utilizes a Nude Shibata stylus with a boron cantilever. The effective mass of the stylus/cantilever system is extremely low due to the use of a very thin boron rod. This material is extremely stiff and even more lightweight than aluminium. The gold plated 6NX copper Ortofon Aucurum wire minimizes distortion, while the WRD (Wide Range Damping-system), control the high and low frequency damping separately.

Ortofon’s Cadenza Series utilizes brand-new technology such as an improved winding procedure for the armature, extruded aluminum for the bodies, and special magnets. These moving coil cartridges offer much better detail retrieval and greater dynamics. The cantilever/stylus configuration as well as the wiring used determines the prices (see at left). Call us to discuss this incredible cartridge line.

“No cartridge can be all things to even one audiophile, but [Ortofon Cadenza Black is] extremely revealing rather than romanticizing some aspect of the music.”
—Anthony H. Cordesman, The Absolute Sound, 2019 Golden Ear Award

“Here’s a fast, tonally balanced, low-coloration pickup that has outstanding transparency, tonal neutrality, and openness without any brightness or stridency, plus very good sound staging and dynamics.”
Jim Hannon, The Absolute Sound, Editors’ Choice Award
