Shunyata Research's Venom Series V16 Power Conditioner offers clean power and innovative, noise-reduction isolation zones, making it perfect for complex audio systems or high-end home theater setups. Sold here in this money-saving bundle with a Theta XC power cable that will help disappear your V16, it was designed with the company's latest advances in vibration management, dynamic transient current delivery, and the trademarked Component-to-Component Isolation (CCI) noise-reduction technology.
V16's 16-outlet capacity make it an ideal choice for home theater or complex music systems. Traditional power conditioners are designed to block incoming noise from outside the home, but they do not address the noise that is generated by the electronic components themselves. Many conditioners actually reflect noise back into other components connected to the power conditioner. Component-to-Component Isolation (CCI) fully addresses one of the most significant but often overlooked aspects to power-system performance. V16's CCI architecture consists of a proprietary multistage filter that reduces electrical noise and interference generated by a component's power supply.
V16 excels for dozens of reasons, including its capacity to create dual-isolation zones. It is rated for a full 20 amps of continuous current, allowing it to handle very demanding home theater systems, including multiple high-power amplifiers. It features two independent noise-reduction isolation zones, each with an eight-outlet array. This allows for partitioning between source or application use. For example, you could use Zone A for digital and Zone B for analog in a home audio system. Or, you could use Zone A for visual and Zone B for audio equipment in a home theater system.
You can learn more about the distinctive technology in the sections below. We encourage you to hear just how dramatic an upgrade V16 will make in your own system by arranging for a risk-free, in-home audition, backed by our 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee. If you've often wondered whether there was anything behind power-conditioning claims, or if you've always dreamed of implementing a Shunyata unit in your setup, there's never been a better time to hear the difference that clean, proper power can make.
ArNi Conductors
Shunyata Research's ArNi conductors are designed to be the finest-quality wire available for power and audio purposes. They begin with the highest purity copper available — OFE C10100 (or Ohno single crystal). Then they are formed into "virtual hollow tubes" that Shunyata refers to as VTX (a trademarked name). The core of the conductor is completely hollow, forcing the current to only travel through the periphery of the conductor, thereby eliminating skin effects and random eddy currents. Every ArNi wire undergoes Shunyata's proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (KPIP).
Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (KPIP)
Shunyata's proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process was developed to significantly reduce the amount of time required to burn-in cables and power conditioners. It also has a performance-enhancing effect above and beyond simple burn-in. Four days of continuous KPIP processing dramatically reduces the ups and downs of new equipment burn-in while significantly improving sonic performance — delivering a more natural, lifelike presentation.
Electromagnetic Breaker
Over-current protection is a requirement for today's high-current audio power distributors. The vast majority of manufacturers use an inexpensive thermal fuse or breaker. Both are specifically designed to heat up as the current level rises. This causes voltage drops, increased contact impedance, thermal noise, excessive heat generation, and current-limiting effects. The engineers at Shunyata devised a better solution: a hydraulic electromagnetic breaker that utilizes low-impedance relays, and a sensing coil that reads the current level without heating up or limiting current. They can operate right up to the maximum current level without heating up or limiting instantaneous current. They are rarely used in other companies' products because they cost 10 to 20 times that of a common fuse or thermal breaker.
Vibration Dampening
Based on years of research, Shunyata has created its own vibration-dampening solutions. As any experienced audiophile knows, mechanical vibration can be very destructive to system performance. Shunyata power conditioners are designed from inception to include advanced forms of vibration control that improve the recovery of subtle musical detail and nuance. All Shunyata chassis panels and internal structures are treated with vibration-dampening panels. Each outlet is isolated from the chassis with a vibration-dampening gasket that reduces vibration conducted through the AC cables. All internal modules, filters, and electronics are encapsulated in a vibration-absorbent compound.
Cryogenic Processing
Shunyata Research operates its own on-site Cryogenics International computer-controlled cryogenic plant. Liquid nitrogen is used to reduce the temperature of the contents to -320 degrees Fahrenheit. A computer monitors and lowers the temperature by a single degree at a time to prevent thermal shock. Shunyata utilizes this process to improve the performance of connectors and various electrical components that are used in its power products and signal cabling.
Reliability
Shunyata Research has established a stellar reputation for its products' reliability and durability. Shunyata products are completely non-reactive and run cool to the touch. They do not hum, vibrate, buzz, or generate heat, and they do not require any ventilation. Despite heavy-use applications in recording studios, medical labs, and home environments, Shunyata products maintain an almost zero failure rate. Many Shunyata Research products are covered under a limited lifetime warranty that can extend beyond the original purchaser.
Build Quality
In an era of products that are mass-produced, Shunyata Research invests in training career craftspeople who build products by hand at a factory in Poulsbo, Washington. Exceptional fit, finish, and attention to detail have become hallmark traits of Shunyata products. The company's deep commitment to building reliable products designed to last a lifetime elevates its products to the top of their class.
Safety Assurance
Safety and quality control are absolutely essential at Shunyata Research. Before anything leaves the factory, a team tests each product thoroughly and carefully for safety and quality. This helps explain the long-term success of Shunyata products in professional recording, medical, scientific, and consumer settings.
Theta XC Power Cable: Disappear Your V16
Theta Series signal, digital, and power cables were created using scientific innovation that has established Shunyata Research as a key contributor to the world's top recording studios and heart-surgery labs. Each component, material, and conductor within the Theta Series is custom-designed to extend the boundaries of signal resolution, even when compared to cost-no-object products. Theta Series products further expand upon Shunyata Research's legacy of delivering uncompromising performance at prices that raise expectations for all products in their category.
Theta Series signal and digital cable products feature continuous-cast Ohno copper. Ohno copper is an ultra-pure conductor drawn using heated molds that cast the wire into a singular crystalline structure. The Ohno conductors used in the Theta Series are then extruded with a fluorocarbon dielectric and custom-shielding elements using Shunyata Research's exclusive PMZ (Precision Matched Impedance) process. This extrusion method tightens the tolerances of the conductor surface, dielectric and the precision placement of the shield. To achieve these finely drawn tolerances, the extrusion and braiding machines must be run at one-quarter normal speed during the manufacturing process.
Theta speaker cables and power cords feature VTX™ (hollow core) and VTX-Ag™ (pure silver center) conductors, both with an outer layer of ultra-pure OFE copper for enhanced performance. Finally, all Theta cables are conditioned for 4-days using Shunyata Research's advanced Kinetic Phase Inversion ProcessTM (KPIPv2TM), which conditions conductor metals at a molecular level. Theta Series cables are terminated with Shunyata's custom-designed connectors and cold-soldered terminals. These custom-designed attributes elevate Theta Series performance far beyond expectation, regardless of cost.
Theta cables disappear, allowing the system to express sudden dynamic shifts in timing and frequency extension with effortlessness and nuance. A loom of Theta cables allows a complex system of electronics and speakers to speak with a single coherent voice.
Theta cables imbue the system with an unassailable sense of coherence, as if everything is in focus, without distortion or hard transients. There is an absence of perceived noise, allowing spectral and textural subtlety to come to the fore. Unlike common copper cables, Theta Series cables deliver explosive dynamics and pitch perfect frequency extension, even when compared to far more expensive cables. Theta's larger gauge VTX™ conductors add weight, dimensionality and an expansive, room-filling sound-stage.
