Description

When Sound Matters: Yamaha R-N2000A Network Receiver Prioritizes Fidelity, Features Audiophile-Grade Toroidal Transformer and Symmetrical Construction

The Yamaha R-N2000A is the rare two-channel network receiver expressly created for listeners who place the highest priority on sound quality and tonal balance. Though other models offer home-theater flexibility and lavish multichannel decoding, R-N2000A focuses on reproducing music, high-res streaming, and stereo TV (via its HDMI ARC input) in rich, detailed, ultra-dynamic fidelity off-limits to most AVRs. Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) for automatic speaker calibration, Pure Direct mode, and retro-styled analog VU meters further underline its commitment to ensuring you hear songs, albums, and more in clear, vivid, immediate fashion.

Anchored by the type of large toroidal transformer usually found in standalone high-end amplifiers — and built with Yamaha’s mechanical ground concept that extends from the footer bolts welded directly to chassis to the heat sink, transformer, and capacitors bolted to the chassis — R-N2000A outputs a powerful 90Wpc into eight ohms. A floating and balanced power amplifier, chrome-plated brass feet, and perfectly symmetrical, folding-book construction for optimal weight balance and channel separation brand this 48.7-pound AVR as an audiophile-quality component. That designation carries on to the thick wires for the ground connection and screw connection for the power amplifier output section, which strengthen the ground and help achieve open, natural soundstaging.

When it comes to streaming, a built-in ESS SABRE ES9026PRO Ultra DAC supports up to DSD 11.2MHz and 384kHz playback (via the USB function), and processes signals with exceptional accuracy and speed. R-N2000A also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the Yamaha MusicCast network system that is compatible with most major services as well as AirPlay 2. Want more options? An FM tuner with 40 presets, three pairs of RCA inputs, an MM phono input, mono output for a powered subwoofer, and preamp output complement an Ethernet input and USB-B input. Translation: R-N2000A will mesh with CD players, turntables, external DACs, and more.

Measuring 6.125 x 17.125 x 18.625 inches (HWD), R-N2000A includes a remote control and five-year manufacturer warranty. If you have any questions or want to know more, please contact an audio consultant today at 312-433-0200.

Audiophile-Grade Toroidal Transformer
Usually reserved for flagship Hi-Fi components, the R-N2000A benefits from the technical proficiency and absolute musicality of a toroidal transformer. Combined with an array of high-end Hi-Fi features and components, the toroidal transformer assists in ensuring the musical emotion is conveyed to the listener. Moreover, a 3 mm brass base is sandwiched between the bottom of the transformer and the inner chassis to control vibrations in the transformer, delivering an overwhelmingly spacious sound filled with realism.

Cutting-Edge DAC
The state-of-the-art ES9026PRO DAC from ESS Technologies achieves highly accurate signal conversion through the balanced analog audio output and further refined current delivery for four-channel operation, effectively reproducing even the subtle ambience of concert halls and delicate expressive nuances. An ultra-precision dedicated crystal clock has also been installed to improve signal accuracy. It supports native DSD 11.2MHz and 384kHz playback, letting you enjoy exceptionally high-quality sound that takes full advantage of high-resolution audio sources.

Mechanical Ground Concept
Like Yamaha's flagship models, R-N2000A employs the mechanical ground concept. The concept begins with the bolts of the feet welded directly to the main chassis and continues with the large heat sink, power transformer and block capacitors, also directly bolted to the chassis. This design prevents unwanted vibration, resulting in powerful, highly expressive low-frequency response. Completing the solid rigidity are its heavy-duty chrome-plated brass feet which firmly reinforce the rich foundational low-frequency response.

Floating and Balanced Power Amplifier
Equipped with our original amplifier technology, the power amplifier circuitry, including the power supply, is independent from the ground, eliminating the influence of minute voltage fluctuations and external ground noise. A variety of other benefits result from this circuit design, including the perfect symmetry of pull-pull operation in the output stage, attainment of excellent S/N ratio, and an expressive power that perfectly draws out the sound of any musical instrument.

Perfectly Symmetrical Construction
Pursuing the epitome of stereo reproduction, R-N2000A adopts perfectly symmetrical, folding-book construction, with the power supply in the center and the power amplifier blocks at both ends of the main unit. This gives the unit ideal weight balance and suppresses adverse effects between channels for extraordinary channel separation. The result is remarkably pure reproduction.

YPAO
Yamaha's YPAO automatic calibration technique has been optimized for the R-N2000A to deliver the ideal listening environment, as if you were in a professional audio listening room. YPAO features precision EQ, which performs exceptionally high-precision equalization with accuracy of up to 64-bit/192kHz audio resolution. YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) works in tandem to actively control the important early reflection sounds, automatically adjusting and optimizing how the sound is heard in your room, depending on the materials of the walls and the speaker placement.
