Put 'Em in a Corner or Against a Wall: Klipsch Cornwall IV Floor-Standing Loudspeakers Offer Huge 15-Inch Woofer, Midrange Driver with Tractix Horn, and Stellar Efficiency
Form follows function: The Klipsch Cornwall IV floor-standingloudspeaker gets its name from its versatile ability to operate either in a corner or against a wall. No wonder this user-friendly, forward-looking design has stood the test of time. Boasting a history stretching back to 1959, the award-winning Cornwall IV debuted as the second center-channel speaker commercially made – originally devised to serve as a complement to a pair of Klipschorns. Ever since, it's become a Klipsch classic and part of a Heritage Series that constitutes a crucial part of American high-end audio.
With a made-to-order enclosure constructed by hand in the U.S.A. and horn-loaded compression drivers, Cornwall IV sounds as enticing as it looks. It's also one of the few – if only – loudspeakers with such a following that it triggered a letter-writing campaign and passionate petition after it was briefly discontinued in 1990.
Cornwall IV understands bass needs to be full-range, copious, powerful, controlled, and taut. To such aims, the three-way model arrives equipped with a massive, fiber-cone 15-inch K-33 woofer and front-firing ports to provide low-end responsiveness that helps make music sound more vibrant, rich, clear, complete, and real. Yes, you're gonna feel it. And you'll undoubtedly hear how the elevated degrees of tonal smoothness, front-to-back soundstaging, grit-free cleanness, and expansive dynamics delivered by Cornwall IV impact your music.
The 1.75-inch K-702 polyamide compression midrange driver coupled with a Tractix horn and one-inch K-107 titanium tweeter also deserve a heaping of thanks. Ditto an upgraded audiophile-grade crossover that uses the voicing from Klipschorn K6 and La Scala. Sensitivity (102dB) and output levels that come close to those of Klipsch's fully horn-loaded models add to its flexibility and capability to be paired with a variety of amplifiers – especially tube types. Friends, Cornwall IV can play loud. Prepare to rock out while enjoying an extremely generous sweet spot.
After all, what's the point of investing in a great system if you aren't going to have a little fun and let loose? Cornwall IV invites you do so time and time again. It's tradition, just like the gorgeous matched-book wood veneer cabinetry, logo-scripted grilles, matte-black "floating" riser, and aluminum input panel for bi-wiring and-amping that suit your individual needs. Klipsch also includes a stout 10-year warranty. Get Cornwall IV into your home today and hear why this 100-pound beast has been adored for six decades and counting!
"Visceral, unapologetic, and the embodiment of engaging, Cornwall IV brings music alive in sensory-invigorating ways. As for power, presence, and expressiveness? Hold on to your hazy IPA. At every step, Cornwall IV offers you the chance to feel what you're hearing – just like memorable concerts."

"It does dynamics and power delivery like nothing I've had in this room before."

Book-Matched Wood Veneers
Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for Heritage Series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint – like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker a more aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.
Matched Pairs
Each pair of Heritage Series loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory. Each finished product is inspected and labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring Heritage Series speakers leave the factory as a meticulously crafted set.
