Improved Sonic Clarity from Gorgeous, Compact Cabinets: Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500M II Bookshelf Speakers Feature a Larger Horn for Superb Performance
Sometimes, great things come in small packages. The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500M II bookshelf speakers deliver dazzling sound quality that belies the compact size of the cabinet. Considering the reasonable price, these beauties are price-to-performance champs. Plus, they offer the legendary Klipsch build quality and horn architecture. Even with a compact size of 13.56 inches tall, they illustrate why so many music lovers fully embrace horn architecture in loudspeakers. Klipsch's exclusive horn design maximizes efficiency and increases sonic detail while focusing high frequencies toward the listening area.
Designed and engineered in the USA, the versatile RP-500M II speakers are loaded with Klipsch signature technology. They feature a new, larger, 90-degree x 90-degree silicone composite hybrid Tractrix horn, which provides incredibly efficient transfer of high-frequency waves into your listening space for crisp, clear sound. A bigger horn means better sound, and the phase plug and compression molded silicone face help ensure smooth frequency response.
The proprietary 1-inch titanium Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) diaphragm tweeter minimizes distortion for detailed, lifelike playback. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of previous Reference Premiere series, making this a core component of some of the most acclaimed loudspeakers in the world.
Another signature of the Reference Premiere series speakers—and one that packs both sonic and visual impact for the RP-500M II—is the 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofer. Equipped with Faraday rings, this Cerametallic cone woofer is engineered for flawless sound reproduction, minimum distortion, and maximum efficiency. The redesigned woofer delivers the sonic clarity that audiophiles around the world have come to expect from a Klipsch Reference Premiere speaker.
Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the Reference Premiere port allows for efficient, ultra-fast air transfer from the cabinet, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies. (For optimal results, place these speakers a bit away from walls. Because of the port design, the bass tones will be richer when the speaker is not positioned directly against a wall.)
Improvements were made throughout the RP-500M II, from top to bottom. The input panel now features audiophile-grade wire and easily accessible aluminum binding posts. The revised cabinet design features additional bracing to minimize resonances and vibration. On the bottom of the cabinet's exterior, cork pads (instead of rubber bumpers) provide reliable security, whether the speakers are placed on a stand or table.
The strong, flexible, removable grille attaches magnetically for a sleek look, allowing these speakers to visually complement any listening space. And, like all Music Direct products, Klipsch loudspeakers come with the 100% Music Direct Satisfaction Guarantee.
"I will tell you, without a doubt, that the 500M II is miles better than the [previous model, the] 500M. What you hear, in terms of midrange presence and clarity, is a marked, marked improvement.... [It offers] more resolution, more presence, and more detail in the upper midrange area.... Overall, I actually think the 500M II is a pretty solid buy. And, the thing I really do like about the 500M II—as well as even the [Klipsch] 600M II—is the soundstage imaging placement ... [which is] very precise."

Exclusive LTS Tweeter
The exclusive 1-inch LTS tweeter minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. The vented tweeter housing reduces standing waves that create unwanted harmonics, resulting in advanced levels of detail and clarity in high-frequency reproduction.
Tractrix Ports
The signature Tractrix ports have custom-designed inner flares that help reduce air turbulence entering the port. Less turbulent air helps reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass.
Beautiful, Scratch-Resistant Finish
