Description

Built for Speed: German-Made Clearaudio Signature Turntable Features Real-Time Calibration, Outboard Power Supply, and AiR Coreless Motor for Supremely Focused and Accurate Playback

What if, every time you spin a record, your turntable automatically calibrates so that your LP rotates at the exact correct speed required for optimal performance — letting you experience tremendous focus, vice-grip-tight bass, unshakable rhythmic pacing, bang-on accuracy, and multi-layered soundstaging from your favorite albums? The Clearaudio Signature turntable does just that and much more. Featuring technology drawn from the company’s award-winning Reference Jubilee deck, Signature combines science, materials, and engineering to deliver thrillingly realistic levels of analog playback and operate with a failsafe consistency that should be expected from a high-end audio product of its caliber.

Equipped with “Tacho-Speed-Control” (TSC) — a method that constantly monitors the rotational speed and offers real-time feedback to the control electronics — Signature instantly responds to environmental sound-deterring effects such as stylus drag, belt tension, friction, and temperature. It works in tandem with a newly devised AiR 12v DC coreless motor, which benefits from low inertia that allows high acceleration rates — and, most crucially, no cogging torque. It also enjoys splendid isolation courtesy of Clearaudio’s O-Ring IMS (improved motor suspension) system, a proven vibration-control method. Speaking of the latter: Signature rests on adjustable Performance DC feet, which deliver degrees of stability and quiet that will translate to what you hear.

The German-made Signature similarly goes the extra mile when it comes to power. Clearaudio’s 12v outboard Professional Power transformer-based linear power supply ($800 as a standalone unit) maximizes the potential of the AiR motor and self-regulating electronics. A vibration-damped toroidal transformer, combined with stiff regulation, conveys the pure, clean power Signature and its sophisticated monitoring technology requires to perform as intended.

On a more mechanical level, Signature gets the heavy lifting done with a 30mm POM platter set atop precision-machined aluminum sub-platter. This apparatus is driven by a flat polished belt that communicates speed control via the TSC. Signature’s constrained altered plinth and platter bearing — a hardened steel shaft housed inside a sintered bronze sleeve with Teflon thrust pad — all stem from the globally embraced Clearaudio Concept model.

When it comes to the tonearm, Signature gives you two great options (select from the menu above). You can get the ’table with the Clearaudio Tracer Black or Signature Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm. Each lightweight and rigid option incorporates black carbon-fiber arm tubes; handmade Swiss vertical and lateral bearings; and polished tungsten points fit against sapphire thrust pads. Magnetic anti-skating force is decoupled and easily adjusted on both models.

Clearaudio Tracer Black Tonearm
Tracer Black tonearm’s precision bearing is 90 degrees to the angle of the cartridge offset, allowing for hyper-accurate tracking and stereo separation. The aluminum headshell provides a large mounting surface for vibrational integrity and allows the azimuth to be easily fine-tuned for optimal channel separation. The counterweight is underslung, providing an optimal center of gravity and allowing fine adjustment of tracking force. Tracer comes hardwired with Clearaudio Sixstream cables terminating in gold-plated RCA plugs.

Clearaudio Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber Tonearm
Signature Black Satisfy Carbon Fiber is Clearaudio’s reference for affordable tonearms.  A two-piece aluminum headshell with adjustable azimuth allows the accurate alignment of sophisticated stylus shapes for excellent stereo imaging. It is hardwired with Clearaudio Direct Wire cables terminated with gold-plated RCA plugs.
