Alison Krauss + Union Station Live on Numbered Limited-Edition 180g 33RPM 3LP Set from Mobile Fidelity: Audiophile Pressing Is Out of Print
Heavyweight Concert Set Features 25 Career-Spanning Tracks and Virtuosic Playing
Live is the first collection of live recordings released from Alison Krauss + Union Station. Recorded on their spring 2002 tour, this 3LP set, includes versions of classic Alison Krauss + Union Station songs such as "When You Say Nothing At All" and "Baby, Now That I've Found You" from their double-platinum Now That I've Found You, "The Lucky One" and "Let Me Touch You For Awhile" from 2001's New Favorite, and "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Down to the River to Pray" from the blockbuster O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack.
One of the finest-sounding, live acoustic recordings we have ever heard, Krauss and Comapny's Live offers you a glimpse into a recording venue like no other. The spaciousness of this recording and the intimacy of the performance can easily be discerned on this amazing remastering job by Mobile Fidelity. You will feel transported into the audience at this incredible concert. Twenty-five career spanning tracks encompass their traditional bluegrass roots to more recent pop-oriented tunes. The recording, the playing, and the voices are all impeccable.
“So good are the sonics of this re-mastered, 180-gram three-LP box set that it takes a few jaw-dropping moments before you’re able to contemplate the brilliant performances. And special half-speed mastering kudos to wizards Stan Ricker and Shawn Britten, who’ve achieved sonic results that surpass MoFi’s last AKUS effort, So Long, So Wrong.”
- Neil Gader, The Absolute Sound, March 2007
“I’ve heard the SACD many, many times and enjoyed the tasteful surround sound mix there and on the concert DVD but for the “you are there” experience, this smoothly detailed, airy, three dimensional-sounding 3 LP set can’t be beat. The analog half-speed mastering by Shawn Britton and Stan Ricker, from a brilliant DSD recording is transparent, airy, three dimensional, full-textured, harmonically complete and just plain 'melt in your ears' good."
- Michael Fremer, Stereophile, December 2006
"Hit after hit is performed with great intimacy and real faithfulness to the original release, but with the addition of an open, airy, live venue. The sound is to die for. This is some of the finest music of its genre ever performed and the re-mastering job is simply sublime!"
