60th Anniversary Edition Reissue of 1957 Classic Cut from the Original Mono Masters by Kevin Gray with Bonus Alternate Take of "Blues At Twilight"
Recorded in late 1956 and released in early 1957, the same year as the landmark Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section, The Art Pepper Quartet is now back on vinyl for its 60th anniversary. Mastered from the original mono tapes in an all analog chain by Kevin Gray, this anniversary edition was overseen by Art's widow, Laurie Pepper, and Grammy-winning producer, Cheryl Pawelski. In addition to the album's seven classics, this remaster also includes an alternate bonus take of "Blues At Twilight." A gem on all fronts – this is how jazz should be experienced. Ladies and gentlemen, the return of The Art Pepper Quartet.
