Bob Seger Night Moves on 180g LP
Unavailable on Vinyl for Decades: Bob Seger's 1976 Classic Night Moves Finally on 180g LP
There is a signature richness and power to the music that Bob Seger has been making for four decades, and as succeeding generations have discovered those qualities, his reputation as an artist and songwriter has only grown. His work represents the honest best of what rock & roll can be. It’s passionate, unpretentious, uplifting and true to itself and its audience. Perhaps most of all it is distinctly American, a plainspoken testament to the dignity, hopes and aspirations of ordinary working people. In a time as obsessed with glamour, celebrity, fame and materialism as ours, his songs remain a bracing tonic, an emblem of the belief that everyone’s life is a worthy subject of art.
In June 2015, Bob Seger's classic album, Night Moves, will make its debut on 180-gram vinyl. Seger's breakthrough album, powerful and personal, is the newest vinyl reissue addition to the Grammy Award-winning rocker's extraordinary catalogue. Originally released in 1976, Night Moves was Seger's first studio album with the Silver Bullet Band and a majority of the nine tracks were recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with the incomparable Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
Night Moves produced the timeless hit singles "Night Moves," "Mainstreet," and "Rock and Roll Never Forgets" and garnered overwhelming critical praise across the board including Larry Rohter of The Washington Post who exclaimed back in 1977 that, "Virtually every song on Night Moves has a hunger, toughness and drive that is almost palpable, and in the lyrics Seger has written for the powerful surging melodies can be found a continuing fascination with the underdog, the loser and the oppressed."
