The record features the tracks, ‘Dreams,’ ‘That Year,’ ‘Caroline’ featuring Elton John, and more. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Rick Rubin.
Brandi Carlile is an American singer-songwriter and producer known for her distinctive blend of folk, rock, country, and Americana music. Born on June 1, 1981, in Ravensdale, Washington, Carlile began her music career in the early 2000s, gaining recognition for her powerful voice and deeply emotional songwriting.
She released her self-titled debut album in 2005, but it was her 2007 album, The Story, that brought her widespread acclaim, particularly for its title track. Over the years, Carlile has continued to build a dedicated following with albums like Bear Creek (2012) and By the Way, I Forgive You (2018). The latter album won her three Grammy Awards, including Best Americana Album.
In addition to her solo work, Carlile is a member of the country supergroup The Highwomen, alongside Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires. Carlile is also known for her activism, particularly in support of LGBTQ+ rights and other social justice causes.
