Full Details

1976's Moonmadness is the fourth full-length from the English progressive group Camel following the success of their breakout instrumental album Snow Goose in 1975. Producer Rhett Davies created an open, intimate sound for Moonmadness, and the concept was more ethereal with inspiration derived from the individual musician's characters as heard on tracks like "Chord Change," "Another Night," "Air Born," and "Lunar Sea." Intricate layers of guitar and keyboards set a mood that has drawn comparisons to Pink Floyd concept albums from the same era. Although the album served as the band's stepping stone to a US audience and reached their highest Billboard Album Chart position to date, it was also the last to feature the band's original line-up (Andrew Latimer, Peter Bardens, Doug Ferguson, Andy Ward).
