Originally released in 1957 as rockabilly pioneer Carl Perkins' first LP for the legendary Sun Record Company, the Dance Album of Carl Perkins reads like a greatest hits collection and is chock full of such timeless anthems as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Movie Magg," "Gone, Gone, Gone," "Honey Don't," "All Mama's Children," "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby," "Matchbox," and "Boppin' the Blues." With dynamic and earnest songs like these it's no wonder Perkins was subsequently inducted into such hallowed institutions as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Grammy Hall of Fame.
