Carly Simon Boys In The Trees on 180g LP
Mastered by Joe Reagoso
From her musical debut as half of The Simon Sisters performing folk songs with her sister Lucy in Greenwich Village, to her meteoric solo career, which yielded 13 top 40 hits, including the No. 1 song "You're So Vain," singer/songwriter Carly Simon has established herself as one of the truly original, trailblazing female performers of all-time, and was the first artist in history to win a Grammy Award, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
Simon's seventh studio effort, Boys In The Trees, was originally issued in 1978 on the heel's of the success of the James Bond The Spy Who Loved Me theme song "Nobody Does It Better," the year prior. The platinum-certified release benefits from a sophisticated production from Arif Mardin and backing from studio aces like Steve Gadd, Eric Gale, Will Lee, Richard Tee, David Sanborn and the Brecker Brothers not to mention guest appearances by then husband James Taylor and Luther Vandross.
The reflective 11-track charmer is highlighted by the Billboard Top 10 "You Belong to Me" co-written with Michael McDonald and the Top 40 remake of The Everly Brothers' 1958 hit "Devoted to You," performed with Taylor. To top it off, the album's famous cover art also took home a Grammy Award for Best Album Package. 180-gram vinyl pressing from Friday Music, mastered by Joe Reagoso.
