Claudio Abbado and the Boston Symphony Orchestra needed two sessions in February 1970 to complete the recording of this well-rehearsed ensemble. Their interpretations of Debussy's Trois nocturnes, Ravel's suite Daphnis et Chloé, and his Pavane pour une infante défunte became classics.
