1970 was truly a successful turning point year for hard rock legends Deep Purple. The band changed directions and after recording a series of well received albums in the late '60s, they returned to the studio with a new Mark II band line-up and recorded the epoch game changer Deep Purple In Rock.

This superstar act now featured the much revered line up of the original guitar hero Ritchie Blackmore, keyboard great Jon Lord, power drummer Ian Paice, and new cohorts, the superlative Roger Glover on bass and soon to be superstar vocalist Ian Gillan. Deep Purple and their masterwork Deep Purple In Rock truly paved the way for a lot of the hard rock and metal bands of today with the music contained on this legendary release.

As with their continuing expansion into the Deep Purple catalog, Friday Music announces the 180g vinyl release of the original U.S. version of Deep Purple In Rock. This mega hard rock classic comes with all of the great tunes you remember like "Speed King," "Child In Time," "Hard Lovin’ Man" and "Living Wreck."

This classic has been mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA, and includes the original gatefold LP artwork.
