1970's Back In Memphis was culled from the same 1969 Chips Moman-produced American Studios sessions that earthed 1969's landmark From Elvis in Memphis. The fruitful sessions marked the last time Elvis would work with the willful Moman making their work together here equally rare and beloved. Touching on pop and '60s R&B, the underrated collection is highlighted by The King's passionate takes on the Bobby Russell ballad "Do You Know Who I Am?", the Percy Mayfield classic "Stranger In My Own Hometown" and the gospel standard "Without Love (There Is Nothing)." Colored 180g vinyl pressing from Friday Music, mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and manufactured at R.T.I. The gatefold packaging comes complete with a dynamic 24" x 24" poster.
