From replacing the legendary Eric Clapton in John Mayall's Blues Breakers, legendary guitarist/vocalist, troubled troubadour and major inspiration to guitarists the world over Peter Green went on to form Fleetwood Mac, one of the most successful bands to come out of Britain in the 1960s. Peter's genius on the guitar was matched by the songs he wrote including "Black Magic Woman" (later a huge debut hit for Santana) and the sublime instrumental "Albatross," plus classics like "Oh Well" and "The Green Manalishi." The first flush of Fleetwood Mac's fame covered just four brief years but in that time its records charted the move from blues into the broader sweep of popular music. This is the soundtrack of those times.
