Fragments II: Lili Boulanger Various Artists on 180g 2LP
FRAGMENTS goes into the second round. This time, the project focuses on the French composer Lili Boulanger. The Prix de Rome-winning multi-instrumentalist wrote music that oscillated between tradition and avant-garde. “Lili Boulanger was one of the greatest musical talents of her time. Her immense talent enabled her to fight for a place with courage and authority in what was then still a very male sphere,” writes the renowned Boulanger expert Alexandra Laederich from the Center international Nadia et Lili Boulanger, who also wrote the booklet text for the album. 13 contemporary musicians and artist duos have reworked Lili's works, including Niklas Paschburg, Rodriguez Jr., Joplyn and Anja Schneider. The result is a state of-the-art and multi-faceted album that is available as high-quality 180g vinyl pressing.
