For their first studio album in five years and first of the '90s, the classic Genesis "trio" line-up of Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford reconvened (in the midst of Collins' massive solo career and Rutherford's successful Mike + The Mechanics project) for one final album of classic songwriting, musical dexterity and high production values. The last Genesis studio effort released by the band with Collins as their lead singer, 1991's We Can't Dance was another huge commercial success, not only on the album charts, where it shot to No. 4 in America and No. 1 in the UK, but in terms of singles as well with five different songs finding their way into the top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100 including "Jesus He Knows Me," "Never a Time," "Hold on My Heart," "No Son of Mine" and the title track.
