Holy Wave Relax on LP + Download

Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from Austin, TX. The band’s sound has evolved into a unique blend of sun baked surf-psychedelia. Holy Wave creates a brand of psych that brings to mind fellow Texans like the 13th Floor Elevators and modern contemporaries like The Black Angels and Night Beats, dyed in carefully constructed noise with an attention to detail echoing the work of shoegaze influences like My Bloody Valentine and Spectrum.

The band's second full-length record Relax (Reverberation Appreciation Society label) sees the band expanding both their sound and their membership, recording for the first time as a five-piece. Holy Wave continues to carefully combine fluid forms of sacred surf sounds, droning riffs and group vocals that haunt and harmonize in equal measure.

The eleven songs on Relax are confident and streamlined, yet expansive as ever. The band creates a fuzz-frenzy as deep as it is wide, captured with care by producer Erik Wofford (Explosions in the Sky, My Morning Jacket, The Black Angels) at Cacophony Studios in Austin, TX.
