180g Vinyl LP Reissue Cut from the Original Analog Master Tapes
Iron Maiden followed-up the 2012/13 vinyl picture disc reissues of their groundbreaking first eight records, which spanned the 1980s, with brand new pressings of the albums on heavyweight 180g vinyl. The albums were cut from the original analog master tapes and packaged in identical artwork to the initial '80s releases. 1982's The Number of the Beast is Iron Maiden's landmark third studio album, the debut of vocalist Bruce Dickinson, and final release with original drummer Clive Burr. Universally regarded as one of the best heavy metal albums of all-time, the unrelenting 8-song set was the band's first to reach No. 1 in the UK thanks to the hit singles "Run to the Hills" and "The Number of the Beast." The album also saw Iron Maiden officially takeover the heavy metal mantle from contemporaries Judas Priest with a streak of seven consecutive platinum and/or gold albums in the United States.
