Deluxe Colored 180g Vinyl LP Edition with Animated Lenticular Cover
Jeff Lynne's ELO, the relaunched version of Electric Light Orchestra, returns with the new album From Out of Nowhere. The 10-track record follows-up ELO's 2015 comeback album, Alone in the Universe, which was the band's first collection of new original material in 14 years. From Out of Nowhere opens with the buoyant title track and also includes the wistful "Help Yourself," the celebratory "Down Came the Rain," the churning rocker "One More Time" and the sweet closer "Songbird."
"‘From Out of Nowhere' – that's exactly where it came from," Lynne says of the title tune. "That's the first one I wrote for this album and it's kind of like that." Optimism is a running theme throughout From Out of Nowhere. "Everybody's got to have a bit of hope," the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer adds.
Like its predecessor, From Out Of Nowhere shows Lynne finding new facets to his signature sound, at once drawing on his globally loved legacy and forging new paths in both sound and emotion. Once again, he plays nearly every note of the music on guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes, as well as singing all of the lead and layered harmony vocals. Steve Jay, who also engineered the album, adds some percussion.
