Recorded live in concert in a bullring in Bilbao, Spain, Joan Baez's singular 1988 work Diamonds And Rust In The Bullring is comprised of 12 songs, six performed in English, five in Spanish and the crown jewel "Txoria Txori" of the set in Basque. In addition to her own title cut " Diamonds And Rust," which kicks off the album, Baez offers up stirring takes of Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry," Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat" and the Beatles' "Let It Be" plus a Spanish reinterpretation of Sting's "They Dance Alone (Gueca Solo)" retitled "Ellas Danzan Solas."

The dead-quiet 2LP-set, with the music spread over four sides of vinyl, reduces distortion and high frequency loss as the wider-spaced grooves let your stereo cartridge track more accurately. Exquisite sonic detail is captured on these 200-gram discs, bringing out the exemplary mastering job by Kevin Gray.
