John Mellencamp Uh-Huh on 180g LP

John Mellencamp's career in music, spanning more than 35 years, has seen him transition from pop star to one of the most highly regarded songwriters of a generation and The Voice of The Heartland. Five Mellencamp albums will be reissued on 180g vinyl in June 2016 by Mercury/UMe. New lacquers for American Fool, Uh-Huh, Scarecrow, The Lonesome Jubilee, and Big Daddy were cut from their original analog master tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, with the LPs manufactured by Record Industry. The albums will be available individually and gathered in a 5LP box set, The Vinyl Collection 1982-1989.

Released in 1983, Uh-Huh followed-up John Mellencamp's commercial breakthrough with 1982's American Fool and served as the first album where he reclaimed his real last name on the cover, yet still with the 'Cougar' stage name intact at this point as well. If American Fool was Mellencamp's commercial breakthrough then Uh-Huh was his artistic breakthrough as his songwriting chops were rapidly on the ascent. The well crafted triple-platinum effort reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the two Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits "Crumbling Down" (No. 9) and "Pink Houses" (No. 8), as well as the Top 20 "Authority Song."
