In the fall of 1978, John Prine returned home to Chicago, IL for a concert performance at the city's famed, Park West. This show, captured on the original limited edition album September '78, features another side of the prolific postman - backed by an electric band featuring Johnny Burns (electric guitar), Tom Piekarski (bass), Angelo Varias (drums) and Howard Levy (piano, organ, harmonica, saxophone, mandolin). Includes takes on high-water marks like "Angel From Montgomery," "Please Don't Bury Me" and "Pretty Good." Oh Boy Records originally pressed only 2000 copies of this classic album in 2015, but now are putting it back in print on vinyl once again!
