Strange harmonics, 'off' notes and just sheer noise give a murky depth to Kimbrough's repetitive looping notes and even the lyrics are often buried beneath layers of blues grunge. Most Things Haven't Worked Out qualifies as a liminal, half-waking Mississippi dream and highlights include the hypnotic "I'm in Love" and the stomping "Burn in Hell."
