London Grammar If You Wait on 2LP
If You Wait is the highly anticipated debut album from UK-based trio London Grammar consisting of Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman. The Columbia Records release features 11 tracks including lead single "Strong," which Pitchfork praised, noting "Reid's voice washes over you, clean and perfectly," while London's Sunday Times commended its "killer melodies magicked into greatness by Reid's soulful, yearning vocals."
If You Wait is the result of 18 painstaking months spent writing and recording. Heavily involved in every decision made on If You Wait, the band handpicked their team, co-producing the album with Tim Bran (The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, La Roux) and Roy Kerr aka The Freelance Hellraiser. Roc Nation's KD (Outkast, Beyonce, Jay-Z) was then drafted to mix the album with Grammy-winning Tom Coyne (Adele's 21) joining them to master.
Since introducing themselves with the near anonymous posts of two songs ("Hey Now" and "Metal & Dust") late in 2013, London Grammar quickly captured the interest and, more importantly, the imagination of music fans across the UK and beyond. The tracks catapulted the band straight into the spotlight, with music critics and fans eager to see what they did next. The trio released the acclaimed Metal & Dust EP in June of 2013 and If You Wait is sure to capitalize on the trio's unstoppable momentum in 2014.
