Blues & Ballads is Lonnie Johnson’s third album, originally released in 1960. The diverse offering of originals and covers demonstrates Johnson’s versatility on guitar and vocals. Johnson is joined by his contemporaries Elmer Snowden and Wendell Marshall on this recording. AllMusic declared Johnson “effortlessly [reveals] his artistic range.” (AAA) lacquers cut from the original tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QRP. A replica tip-on jacket completes the package.
