International superstar Mariah Carey continues the celebration of her 30th Anniversary (#MC30) as a recording artist with the release of 16 commemorative 12″ vinyl editions of albums from her groundbreaking catalog originally issued on Columbia/Legacy and Universal Music Group. The releases will begin in October 2020 and continue into January 2021.
On vinyl for the first time, 2014's hip-hop centric Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse features production from Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri, Hit-Boy, and Mike Will Made It plus a slew of guest spots from heavyweights like Nas, Wale, Miguel, and Fabolous. The best-selling female artist of all time with the distinct five-octave vocal range explained that the album took its title from her "first and only self-portrait" drawn when she just was a child. As for the second half of the title, "The Elusive Chanteuse," Carey noted that it was another adopted nickname following other personas such as "Mimi" and "MC."
Hitting No. 1 on Billboard's US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, notable tracks include "Beautiful" featuring Miguel and "The Art of Letting Go." Vinyl 2LP-set.
