Recorded in 2008 between tour dates with his live band of Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar, keyboards), Chad Cromwell (drums), Rick Rosas (bass), Pegi Young (vocals) and Anthony Crawford (vocals, guitar), Neil Young's conceptual offering Fork In The Road explores the dirty blues and the singer/songwriter's direct ruminations on his growing social and ecological concerns. The album's main themes center around Young's involvement with the Lincvolt Project, a joint effort between the singer and biodiesel pioneer Johnathan Goodwin to develop a commercially viable electric power system for automobiles. Young even named one of the album's songs, "Johnny Magic," after his Lincvolt partner. Further fare such as "Cough Up the Bucks," "Fuel Line," "Hit the Road" and "Get Around" also support Young's famous green leaning ethics. Neil is still rockin' the free world here and once more takes the road less traveled.
