Spontaneous and Unhinged: Somewhere Under the Rainbow Vinyl 2LP Set Captures Neil Young's Free-Form Tonight's the Night Tour Performance from November 1973
When Neil Young and the Santa Monica Flyers (Neil Young, Nils Lofgren, Ben Keith, Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina) played London's Rainbow Theatre on November 5, 1973, nobody knew what was going to happen next. After using the first part of the show to play Young's then-recent Tonight's The Night, the group went in even more spontaneous, unhinged directions. Unconventional and hard hitting, it remains unlike any other show in Young's deep catalog. Long valued by bootleggers, the intense performance was recorded by Pete Long and mixed/mastered for official release by The Volume Dealers (Neil Young and Niko Bolas).
