Nico's 1968 Solo Album The Marble Index on LP. The Audio Has Been Remastered from the Original Tapes.
Nico’s sophomore solo release The Marble Index was an instant avant-garde masterpiece. Nico's haunting vocals and droning harmonium predicted the Gothic movement and co-producer and Velvet Undeground band mate John Cale's startingly modern classical production ensured The Marble Index's timeless appeal. The iconic music journalist Lester Bangs wrote, “The Marble Index is the greatest piece of 'avant-garde classical', 'serious' music of the last half of the 20th century so far,” and the New Yorker recently hailed the album as “austere miracles of will and invention.” The audio for this reissue has been remastered from the original tapes. Also included are previously unreleased photos of Nico by Guy Webster.
