Paul McCartney's Wings was one of the most successful acts the U.K. has ever produced, achieving no less than 12 Top 10 hits in the U.K. and another 14 in the U.S. to boot. Following 1973 smash Band on the Run the mid-70s were certainly a commercial heyday for the group. Venus and Mars, Wings' spirited fourth studio album together, was released in May of 1975 ahead of the legendary 'Wings Over The World' tour. Venus And Mars was the first of two albums to feature what many (Paul included) regard as the perfect Wings line-up, with the McCartneys and Denny Laine now joined by guitarist Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Joe English. Preceded by the U.S. No. 1 single "Listen To What The Man Said," Venus and Mars shot to the No. 1 spot on both sides of the Atlantic and went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide to date.
