Pet Shop Boys (Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe) are the most successful duo in U.K. music history. Since signing to Parlophone Records in 1985, they have achieved 42 Top 30 singles in the U.K. including 22 Top 10 hits and four No. 1's. They've released 13 studio albums to date, all of which have made the U.K. Top 10 as well as album charts around the world. Recorded with Danny Tenaglia and Chris Porter, 1996's Bilingual is the sixth PSB studio album, a UK Top 5 which yielded five Top 20 singles. As is often the case with PSB records, Bilingual comprises many influences, including those of the music of Latin America, due partly to the Spanish and Latin tones Tennant and Lowe had been listening to prior to cutting the album.
