R.E.M. Dead Letter Office on LP
2016 Reissue of the Band's 1987 Rarities & B-sides Collection!
After putting Athens, Georgia, on the musical map in the early '80s, R.E.M. went on to become one of the world's biggest bands. Fusing folk, garage rock, pop sensibilities, and insightful lyrics delivered with Michael Stipe's inimitable lead vocals, these alt-rock forefathers left a lasting legacy of great songs that defined an era.
Dead Letter Office is a 1987 compilation of R.E.M. rarities and b-sides recorded pre-Murmur through to fourth album Lifes Rich Pageant. The 15-track set balances the rare fan favorite like "Ages Of You" with early covers of Pylon's "Crazy," Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic," the Velvet Underground's "There She Goes Again" and "Pale Blue Eyes" and Roger Miller's "King of the Road."
