R.E.M. Eponymous on LP
2016 Vinyl Reissue of the Band's 1988 Greatest Hits Package!
After putting Athens, Georgia, on the musical map in the early '80s, R.E.M. went on to become one of the world's biggest bands. Fusing folk, garage rock, pop sensibilities, and insightful lyrics delivered with Michael Stipe's inimitable lead vocals, these alt-rock forefathers left a lasting legacy of great songs that defined an era.
1988's Eponymous is the band's first greatest hits package and last authorized release on I.R.S. Records. A consummate overview of their early work, the 12-track set is largely comprised of singles from R.E.M.'s first five albums and includes the original "Radio Free Europe," different mixes of "Gardening At Night" and "Finest Worksong," plus the previously unreleased "Romance."
