After several years circulating homemade cassettes on labels like Chthonic and embraced by blogs like Cassette Gods, Salt Lake City-born/Los Angeles-based multi-talented musician and songwriter Sam Burton recorded his first proper debut album, I Can Go With You, with producer Jarvis Taveniere (Purple Mountains, Woods). "I was writing a song a day for 30 days as a personal challenge to myself," Burton says of the dreamy title track. "'I Can Go With You' came out of that practice and I considered it a throwaway at the time. After recording most of the album I still needed a couple more songs and decided to throw it on and we recorded it live followed by two others. When I listened back it ended up being one of the tracks I was happiest with on the record." The 11-track collection will be released on Tompkins Square and comes preceded by the two-track single "I Can Go With You" b/w "I Am No Moon."
