Scrapper Blackwell's Mr. Scrapper's Blues Reissued for the Bluesville Series on 180g LP from Craft: (AAA) Lacquers Cut from the Original Master Tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, Pressed at QRP
Mr. Scrapper’s Blues is Scrapper Blackwell’s second album and was originally released on Bluesville Records in 1962. This stripped-down album features only Blackwell on vocals, guitar, and piano. Producer Arthur Rosenbaum says, “[Blackwell’s] blues are less direct and accessible but are more subtle and personal; their meaning has grown more profound over the years.” This album has been pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QRP and is housed in a replica tip-on jacket.
Craft Recordings is releasing Mr. Scrapper’s Blues as part of the Bluesville Series. Bluesville is a brand-new hub for all things blues, including vinyl reissues, curated playlists, and more! Inspired by the original label imprint established under Prestige Records in 1959, the Bluesville Series will highlight the many trailblazing musicians who contributed to the rich tradition of the blues, including titles from legendary artists on labels such as Vee-Jay, Riverside, Vanguard, Stax, and Rounder Records.
