After commemorating the 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking, genre-defying I Am Shelby Lynne album this year, the Grammy award winning artist is releasing her much-anticipated new project Consequences of the Crown. With singles “Over and Over” and “But I Ain’t” out now, the album in its entirety - produced by an all-female powerhouse group including Lynne in collaboration with Karen Fairchild (of Little Big Town,) Ashley Monroe and Gena Johnson.
Shelby Lynne, born October 22, 1968, in Quantico, Virginia, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress known for her versatile contributions to country, pop, and soul music. She grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where she faced a tumultuous childhood marked by the tragic loss of her parents.
Lynne's music career began in the late 1980s, and she gained critical acclaim with her 1999 album, I Am Shelby Lynne. This album earned her a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2001, despite having been in the industry for over a decade. Her style blends country, rock, soul, and blues, showcasing her distinctive voice and emotional depth.
