Sonic Youth A Thousand Leaves on 2LP
With all the guitar chiming and buzzing you crave, propelled in more disharmony than a holiday meal with your family, Sonic Youth continued an evolution that simultaneously moved forward as well as back in time on their 1998 album A Thousand Leaves. Named after Walt Whitman's poetry collection Leaves of Grass, the well-textured 11-track effort is as strident as it is sublime and was the band's first to be recorded in their new Manhattan studio Echo Canyon which in true Sonic Youth fashion means their tenth album was only the beginning!
