Telarc was launched in 1977 as a pure classical label. It was founded by musicians Jack Renner and Robert Woods who quickly became known for their high quality recordings and signature Telarc sound. Over time, the company amassed over 50 Grammy Awards.
Telarc has enjoyed long relationships with the 'Prince of Pops' Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Robert Shaw & Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Leonard Slatkin & St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Numerous legendary recordings came as a result of these relationships.
