Description

Heavyweight 180g Vinyl LP Reissue Remastered from the Original Tapes!

One of the greatest British rock acts of their generation Traffic emerged from the West Midlands as Birmingham's very own Beatles. Deeply psychedelic at first, later acid folk related their music remains an inventive template for any band with aspirations to musical excellence. Utilizing improvisational methods with tremendous versatility they employed Mellotron and harpsichord, sitar and reeds as well as the conventional rock flavors. Given that their stand out performers were Stevie Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason and Chris Wood such excellence was hardly a surprise.

Encouraged by the creative and commercial success of 1971's The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Traffic gleefully expanded upon its increasingly eclectic style with its 1973 follow-up Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (bassist David Hood, drummer Roger Hawkins, keyboardist Barry Beckett, guitarist Jimmy Johnson) adds a lively punch to the brilliantly crafted collection which melds R&B, pop and jazz into a stylistic gumbo Capaldi liked to call "Headless Horseman Music." Once again adorned in the striking art of Tony WrightShoot Out at the Fantasy Factory topped out at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Gold.

Remastered from the original tapes and pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl LP with the non die-cut artwork caringly overseen and interpreted.
