Musical Fidelity M6xTT Turntable Combines Metal Alloys and Non-Resonant Acrylic to Spectacular Effect: Mass-Loaded Design Features Dual-Chassis Architecture and Electronic Speed Change

Fueled by the idea to combine the inert mass of metal alloys with non-resonant acrylic, the Musical Fidelity M6xTT turntable looks almost futuristic in appearance — and sounds very much present. Featuring electronic speed change and an advanced motor decoupled from the tonearm and chassis via striking dual-chassis architecture, this European-built ‘table is made by hand and claims the world-class quality associated with such manufacture.

Forming a large part of the mass-loaded M6xTT’s visual identity, the motor rests in special form on the lower-level acrylic plinth and gets its power from a precision DC-driven AC generator for optimal speed accuracy, stability, and solidity. In sum, the frequency and voltage are entirely generated from scratch via the ‘table’s control electronics — not by the quality of your mains power. To complete the circuit, a one-piece belt made without any glue connects the motor and the TPE-damped aluminum platter, which weighs in at 14.55 pounds. 

For balance, four robust TPE-damped aluminum feet with magnetic support link the two acrylic plinths. Adjustable teflon spacers placed in between ensure your ‘table is always perfectly level. A leather turntable mat, aluminum center weight, and semi-balanced phono interconnect also come standard. An instance conversation piece, M6xTT plays vinyl with arresting degrees of transparency, focus, detail, and emotionalism.

When it comes to the tonearm, you can choose to go with your own selection or opt for Musical Fidelity’s nine-inch models (select from the button menu above). Equipped with a streamlined headshell and direct 5P DIN output, it boasts a transparent acrylic bearing ring and conical aluminum tube. Fully VTA and azimuth adjustable, it also comes with two TPE-damped counterweights that further prevent distortion.
